Exploring the differences between Real Wood Venetian ranges

We sell many different wood venetians ranges. This is so we can;

1. Provide a wide variety of colours and finishes (gloss, matt, satin).
2. Provide a choice of different slat widths ranging from the narrower 25mm up to wider 63mm. (The general rule of thumb is to use the bigger slats widths for the bigger windows. It looks best to keep to one slat width for rooms with multiple windows).
3. Provide blinds at different price points to suit all budgets.
4. Utilise the different manufacturers, we are partnered with, who have different lead times. Customers can select the quickest manufacturing time if they happen to be in a rush. (This has been useful during the times of covid and shipping delays as we can utilise a different manufacturer when one is impacted by such issues).
5. Provide ranges that have different features such as stained slat ends, choice of tape colour or choice of controls sides.

There are many similarities between the ranges as follows;

1. All the real wood venetian ranges we sell are of excellent quality. We used to be a small fitting company so all the ranges we sell on this website we have installed in many customer’s homes over the years, including our own homes.
2. All the real wood venetians that we sell are made from sustainable and ethically sourced basswood. Basswood is plentiful, versatile, light weight, affordable and able to be cut thinly for the slatting.
3. All ranges are also covered by our 5 year guarantee. This is one year coverage on the whole blind and a further 4 years covering components.
4. Most wood venetian blind ranges will look very similar. The obvious differences between ranges you will see will be the slat width, slat colour, tape colour, toggle and pelmet shapes.

The main factors customers’ use to select which wood blind to go for is colour and cost. We agree these are the best criteria to use. A blind will make a big difference to a room so getting the colour right is essential. Always order a sample first to check the colour and to see how this looks in your room next to your wall and under your lighting conditions.

We do not recommend wood blinds for kitchens, bathrooms or conservatories due to the humidity and temperature fluctuations. We would also advise against using woods at windows with severe condensation problems as this can impact the wood.

• Do not have stained slat ends. (Not required if you are installing into a recess where the ends of the slats will not be visible as the recess walls will cover them).

• Most cost effective range.
• Made in the UK 

Starwood Real Wood Venetians

• Manufactured and dispatched in 7 -10 working days.
• Do not have stained slat ends (not required if you are installing into a recess where the ends of the slats will not be visible as the recess walls will cover them).
• Available in 35mm and 50mm slat widths.
• Set co-ordinating tape colour for each wood colour.
• Set control sides (raise right and tilt left).
• Up to 240cm wide
• Made in the UK  

Sunwood Real Wood Venetians

• Manufactured and dispatched in 7 -10 working days.
• Option to have stained slat ends. (This is good to select if you are installing outside of a recess or are to be fitted in a bay where you will have a side on view of the blinds)
• Only available in 50mm slat width.
• Your choice of tape colour.
• Your choice of control sides. (Please note for blinds of a certain size - very narrow or extra wide - control sides cannot be same side for manufacturing reasons)
• Up to 240cm wide
• Made in the UK

Sherwood Real Wood Venetians

• Manufactured and dispatched in 7 working days.
• Has stained slat ends. (This is good to select if you are installing outside of a recess or are to be fitted in a bay where you will have a side on view of the blinds)
• Only available in 50mm slat width.
• Your choice of tape colour.
• Your choice of control sides. (Please note for blinds of a certain size - very narrow or extra wide - control sides cannot be same side for manufacturing reasons)
• Has an easy lift system to make the blind light and easy to raise and lower.
• Available up to 242cm wide.
• Made in the UK

Timberlux Real Wood Venetians

• Manufactured and dispatched in 10 working days.
• Have stained slat ends. (This is good to select if you are installing outside of a recess or are to be fitted in a bay where you will have a side on view of the blinds)
• Available in 25mm, 35mm and 50mm slat widths.
• Your choice of tape colour.
• Your choice of control sides. (Please note for blinds of a certain size - very narrow or extra wide - control sides cannot be same side for manufacturing reasons)
• Completely hand made. (Other blind ranges are machine cut and hand finished).
• Most expensive range we sell.
• Made extra wide – up to 289.6cm wide.
• Made in mainland Europe
