As much as we love real wood venetians sometimes, as outlined below, a faux wood venetian is the better option.

Faux wood venetians are highly versatile.

They can be used in areas where real woods cannot be such as kitchens and bathrooms. These rooms can experience high levels of humidity and a real wood product would suffer under these conditions. A faux wood venetian would be fine for installation in a kitchen or bathroom area as the PVC slatting will not be impacted by steam or condensation in the room.  Faux woods can be used in any room throughout the home, apart from conservatories, so you can create a uniform look throughout your home.

Faux wood venetians can be lighter

In relation to weight the faux wood slatting can be lighter so for larger windows this might be preferable if you frequently fully raise and lower your blinds, rather than just angling the slats. It may also help to make installation easier, especially if you are installing the blinds by yourself without an extra pair of hands to assist you.

Faux woods can be less expensive

Depending on your sizes and the options you select (tapes, slat width) our entry level faux wood range can work out much less expensive than our entry level real wood venetian range. This can be helpful if you are on a strict budget.

Faux woods slats are solid colour all the way through

As faux woods are a PVC material they are the same colour all the way through so where the ends of the slat are cut the ends of the slat will be the same colour as the front of the slat. With real wood venetians, unless you opt for stained slat end, where the slats are cut at then ends you will see the real wood colour rather than colour the slat has been painted. Having stained slat ends is an advantage if you are installing your blinds outside of a recess where you will have a side on view of your blinds.

Faux woods look just like real wood!

Many people cannot tell the difference between real wood and faux wood venetians, especially if you are opting for a smooth, white slat. They do look very similar and once installed most people would not be able to tell without very close inspection what your venetian blinds are made from.

Faux woods can be made to larger widths

Most our real wood venetians can only be made up to 240cm wide. Our faux wood venetians can be made to larger widths. Our faux wood Expressions range can be made up to 259cm wide and our faux wood impressions up to 260cm wide. This can be helpful for those that have wider windows to cover and do not want to install multiple blinds at one window.
